"The LED based works explore the characteristics of physical movement in figures and nature through light and material. Campbell alters the perception of form by manipulating the speed and resolution of his filmed imagery, leaving the viewer with a visual impression rather than a specific narrative."

The moving images exist at the fringe of recognition and the viewer gets a sense of time and memory. The title of the work suggests the 3 sublime led memory videos of a fire, a freeway and a walk.

I find this led-based work to be a logical continuation of a moving image medium which had its initial exploratory roots in Nam June Paik (see Exposition of Music - reconfigured tv set as an interactive instrument in 1963). Ahh the deconstruction of the moving image into a blurry group of leds. Beautiful!
