Skelli checks his watch

This is a kinetic sculpture in the form of a humanoid, and was developed at the Amorphic Robotic Works in San Francisco.
Some interesting features of this work:
1. Servo controlled sculpture made of aluminium & plastic.
2. Developed by Chico MacMurtrie, an artist working with new forms, and whose work shows the blurring of boundaries between man & machine.
3. An advanced telemetry suit will allow users to teach the robot new behaviors.
4. The machine has 34 degrees of freedom, & fully articulated hands and spine.
5. The robot is designed to exhibit emotions like fear, anger, joy, sorrow, surprise.
6. Was exhibited at the Hanover expo 2000, where it operated every day from June to October.

I enjoyed this work because of my enormous interest in robots, and how artists work in this area.
