So this is the process of making a bag:
1. Cut all the pieces.
2. Print, cut and fold ribbons (fold so the cut edges won't be shown)
3. Gluing and sewing ribbon to the parts where the ribbon is just a decoration and doesn't connect anything.
4. Attach the cover to one of the big pieces (attach = glue + sew).
5. Attach the other big piece to the 3 surrounding pieces.
6. Now we only have two half's of a bag. Attach the two of them.
By now I am in good shape, and make 2 bags in one day.
They are not perfect but they are reasonable.
I am also thinking about other items I can make - except for bags and purses. I though of:
1. Case for glasses which is pretty similar to a purse only in a different pattern. Must use felt for this one.
2. Ipod case. Problem is that there are ipod's in all kind of sizes, and I'm afraid it's too much for me. Also to be able to open e circle exactly above the ipod's - I think it will take me days.... And the fact is that I think this challenge is pretty boring...
3. Key chain. I want to take advantage of the fact that Tyvek looks like paper and to make a key chain that has origami instructions or pattern to paint or connect the dots.
4. Set of a small note book and a pen. I'm only afraid it won't have too much style in it....
