Projects
There will be two projects during the semester. The first will be an observation and research project that focussing on the design process. The second project will be a production project in which we use the design process that we learned in the first project and apply it to a field project. Journal and Documentation
Documentation is vitally important in this field. It is there so that people both students and professionals have access to each others work for reference and inspiration. Students will all be expected to maintain a journal of their work and projects done in this class including weekly comments and assignments. This semester we will be trying this wiki as our structure for our Journal. Each project should have a distinct page which can either be within this wiki or a separate linked page. One of the goals of Assistive Tech at ITP is to create an on-line resource for people working in the field of Assistive Tech.
Grading
- Participation & Attendance: 20%
- Observation Project: 10%
- Production Project: 30%

Participation and Attendance
In-class discussion and group work are a large part of your grade. You will be expected to show up on time and participate in class discussion as well as group work. If you know that you will not be able to attend a class please contact us in advance. Assignments are all expected to be turned in on time.
Laptops
ITP now follows a default "no laptops in class" policy. Computers are to be used only when necessary for presentations, other times students are expected to be participating in class.
