Items that are specifically designed to excite a certain sense have that sense listed in parentheses.

Wednesday:

  • Computer: at least 10 times. Many hours. Touch, sight, hearing.
  • Metrocard turnstile: 2 times. One second each. Touch (to swipe card), sight (for card orientation and visual confirmation of swipe success).
  • Elevator: 2 times. One minute each. Touch, sight, hearing (for cues on door opening/closing).
  • Refrigerator (Taste): one time. Few seconds. Touch (open/close door, feel cold air to know it's working, retreive items), sight (navigate door and contents), hearing (confirm closing of door while walking away. I often have to go back because I don't hear it shut properly), taste.
  • Lights: many times. One second. Sight (navitate switch and confirm lights are on/off), touch (operate switch).
  • DVD Player (Sight, Sound): once. Few seconds. Touch (to open and push tray in), sound (to confirm tray shutting properly).
  • DVD Player Remote: once. Few seconds. Touch (to press play and navigate menus), sight (for menus), sound (as cue for when a menu has loaded).
  • Cell phone (Sound): many times. Varying duration. Touch (to use buttons), sight (for visual reassurance of button pressed), sound (for conversation and audio confirmation of buttons pressed).
